Staying Home: 3-Star CB Nas Eason Commits to Arizona State After Reopening recruitment.

One of Arizona’s top defensive backs is officially staying home. Higley High School standout Nas Eason announced his commitment to Arizona State University, giving the Sun Devils another major recruiting win inside the state. The Class of 2027 cornerback made his decision after an impactful visit to Tempe, choosing to remain in Arizona after decommitting from San Diego State earlier this month.
Eason enters his senior season as one of the premier defensive backs in the Grand Canyon State. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, the 6-foot-1 cornerback is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 27 overall player in Arizona, and the No. 129 cornerback nationally.

Earlier this month, Eason reopened his recruitment after backing off his pledge to San Diego State. With several schools showing interest, Arizona State quickly emerged as the favorite. A visit to Tempe helped solidify that feeling, and the opportunity to represent his home state proved too strong to pass up.
The commitment is another example of head coach Kenny Dillingham and his staff prioritizing Arizona talent and keeping elite prospects close to home.
A Leader in Higley’s Secondary
Eason has become one of the top defensive playmakers in Arizona, using his length, athleticism, and ball skills to establish himself as one of the state’s most sought-after prospects. His combination of size and versatility has attracted offers from programs across the country, but in the end, the Gilbert native decided his future belongs in maroon and gold.
Another In-State Victory for ASU, Landing Eason gives Arizona State another talented piece for the future and continues the program’s recent success in keeping Arizona’s best prospects at home.
For Eason, the decision comes down to something bigger than football.

After reopening his recruitment and weighing his options, the three-star cornerback chose to stay close to family, represent his state, and continue his journey just miles away from where it all started.
