A Two-Way Presence Built for Perry’s System

Known for their relentless defense and disciplined team culture, Perry has found an ideal fit in Diamond. At 6’3″ with long arms and natural quickness, he projects as an elite perimeter defender capable of guarding multiple positions. He takes pride in shutting down scorers, using anticipation and energy to disrupt passing lanes and turn defense into transition opportunities.

“He’s the kind of player who changes the tone of a game with his defense,” one coach noted. “His motor never dips, and his presence alone raises the bar for everyone around him.”

Emerging as a Playmaker

While defense is the foundation of his game, Diamond’s growth as a creator and playmaker is what makes him stand out among young wings in Arizona. He’s become increasingly comfortable initiating offense, pushing the ball in transition, and making reads that open up teammates. His unselfishness and improving court vision give Perry a versatile option who can impact both ends of the floor.

“LJ’s starting to see the game in layers,” said a team source. “He’s learning when to attack, when to facilitate, and how to control tempo. That’s what separates good wings from great ones.”

Expectations and Next Steps

Joining a dynasty program like Perry means high expectations — and Diamond appears ready for that challenge. His defensive instincts, leadership qualities, and expanding offensive role make him a strong college-level prospect to watch over the next few seasons.

If he continues developing at this pace, LJ Diamond has the potential to emerge as one of the premier two-way wings in the Class of 2027, anchoring Perry’s push for a fifth straight title while catching the attention of recruiters nationwide.
